Wise Thoughts

Furtherton over at Guitars and Life, who is a very wise man and always has some really great comments, left one of those comments on my post Moving On.  Basically, he said that if we don't try and move on then the evil wins (I'm paraphrasing...sorry).  He's right.

My son has a teacher who, every morning when his son wakes up, says to him, "Don't let anyone take your happy today."  He's right too.

And the Dalai Lama is quoted as saying, "Do not let the behavior of others destroy your inner peace."  He's often right as well.

So I'm going to move on and try to get my happy back and rediscover my inner peace.

Because, no matter what else I do in my life, I will not let that bastard win.

Namaste

  1. Wise? That made me laugh!

A good saying a friend of mine says a lot is to not let them live in your head rent free. I use that a lot to help get myself back in a reality I can cope with.

  2. My hubby saps my happy too often...it's draining and I keep telling myself to not let his emotions become mine. It's hard not to, or at least it is for me. Those emotions have definitely triggered some of my bad drinking nights. I LET him destroy my inner peace. I'll have to have that tattoo'd to the palm of my hand...DON'T LET ANYONE TAKE AWAY MY HAPPY!! I love it.

  4. "Don't let anyone take your happy today." I really like that!

I think the best that we can do is put back joy and goodness back into the world. We so need that right now.

I shared some Dalai Lama quotes today, and a friend also reminded me of a favorite quote from Viktor Frankyl:

“Everything can be taken from a man but one thing: the last of the human freedoms—to choose one’s attitude in any given set of circumstances, to choose one’s own way.”
― Viktor E. Frankl, Man’s Search for Meaning

I hope you have a Merry Christmas with your family Sherry.

    xo, Christy
